I saw the eyes in a craft store and knew that I had to make something with them. When a battery is put in, they light up and pulse on an off, back and forth. Since Sheen and I were planning for our wedding at the time, I decided that I'd make a mascot for us. I build him mostly in my dad's shop over a couple days and named him Grover. The swirl shape was a theme used throughout the wedding. Also, I'm notoriously bad at remembering dates, so I very deliberately made him resemble the number 9, being that our wedding date was December 9th. Grover was put on display at our reception. He now hangs on the wall at home and on our anniversary, the battery goes back in to make his eyes light up for the day.
